The Galena Grizzlies Attack at the Truckee XC Invitational

Truckee Cross Country Invite – September 24, 2022

The #BoysOfSteele ran strong at the Truckee XC Invitational – Ponderosa Golf Course, Truckee, CA on 09-24-2022.

Kole led the GHS Boys Varsity team in a 6^th, 7^th, and 8^th place tie with teammates Spencer Wirshing and Jackson Hughes with a 5K PR (17:14.0) and Hunter also earned a 5K PR (17:52.0) placing 14^th out of 119 entries from 16 teams hailing from California & Nevada. Completing the Varsity Roster for this race were Drew Hicks (23^rd), Paul Dannenberg (28^th), Nicholas Bratcher (30^th), Nathan Highley (36^th), Ezra Lingard (42^nd) and Cole Denney (44^th).

This was the Boy’s strongest performance this season, and as Freshman, they are looking forward to returning to this course a few more times.

The Truckee Cross Country Invite was a very well run meet, and the course was tough and challenging, but a great time was had by all! The Galena HS Grizzlies Varsity Boys team placed 1st.  The Team has a final score of 57, with the second place team (Spanish Springs High School) scoring 75 points.

The Galena Girls Varsity also placed 1^st, with Eleanor Raker setting a course record. The Boys and Girls JV teams both placed second in their events.  It was a great day to be a Grizzly!
