Douglas Class Races – 1st High School XC Meet for the #BoysOfSteele
Kole & Hunter Steele started their High School Cross Country Career at the Douglas Class Races. The competitors were separated by class (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior) and the #BoysOfSteele ran in the Freshman Race, taking 1st & 2nd place in a field of 39 students from 14 Northern Nevada High Schools.
Kole Steele easily lead the race for the entire 2.55 miles over grass and dirt while winding through baseball fields and park paths and completed the course in 14:37 for an average pace of 5:44, and Hunter Steele followed with a 15:30 for an average pace of 6:05.
Both Boys ran relaxed, had a great experience, and lead their Freshman Team at Galena High School to a win!
In a post-race combined results analysis over all classes, Kole would have placed 12th and Hunter would have placed 28th in a field of 173 students with Galena High School finishing 2nd as a Team with only 2 points between 1st & 2nd place.
The Boys cannot wait until their first mixed class race running on the Varsity XC Team for Galena HS on Thursday, September 1st, 2022 at the Nevada Twilight Cross Country Classic at San Rafael Regional Park, Sponsored by Reno Running Company and Eclipse Running.
